    When you buy a card from Cardyard, you are covered by our 42 day balance guarantee. This covers your gift card for 6 weeks from purchase. Should there be a balance discrepancy during this period, we will refund or replace the difference.We request you spend your gift card as soon as possible, and don't lose sight of it. If you don't spend it in a couple of days, before you know, 2 months have passed. We suggest you do not purchase a gift card from Cardyard until you are ready to spend it, and then spend it as soon as possible.The retailer will have a longer expiry period on the gift card, but we only guarantee the balance on a gift card bought from us for 6 weeks. So have a spend plan in place before you buy the gift card from Cardyard, then spend it as soon as possible.Because of this short "Spend by" date, gift cards bought from Cardyard are not suitable for gifting.See also.... . . .   • Why do you only guarantee the balance for 42 days

    Gift cards on Cardyard are supplied by our sellers who are members of the public. We don't have direct access to the gift card systems like a retailer, and have to rely on the seller for assistance if something goes wrong. As time goes by it gets harder to engage with the seller who themselves often lose access to the retailer, or whoever supplied them. So we have to apply a reasonable time period after which we can no longer guarantee the gift card balance.We find that buyers who experience problems with their gift card after 6 months or so have often spent the cards themselves, or a family member has spent it, but it becomes increasingly difficult to prove.See also.... . . .   • What is the spend-by date

    We guarantee the balance on a gift card for 42 days (i.e. 6 weeks) from purchase. The Spend by date marks the end of the 6 weeks period.     You have 6 weeks to spend a gift card bought from Cardyard. The Spend by date imarks the end of the 6 week period after purchase.The retailer that issued the gift card puts their own time limit on the gift card, and this is the expiry date.Your gift card will probably still work after the Spend by date, but it will definitely not work after the expiry date.See also.... . . .     A 'gift card' is the collective name for plastic gift cards, gift certificates, gift vouchers, and anything with a cash value that has been purchased from a retailer and can subsequently be redeemed and spent at that retailer.An eGift or email Gift Card is a gift card that is sent by email, and is purely in electronic form. If you are sending us an email Gift Card, you must forward on the original email or URL link. We protect the identity of our customers and will not send any personal detail to another customer, but we must see the original email.

  • What is the difference between an eCode and eGift Card?

    eCodes are for online use only. You will be sent the card number and pin ONLY, there will be no digital card/link for a card. These are strictly for online use only and can’t be taken into store to be used. eCodes are different to eGift Cards. eGift Cards can be used both online and in store (provided the retailer can use gift cards in store). eGift Cards are sent with a digital cad/link for a card.

  • How quickly will I receive the gift card I bought?

    e-Gifts are available within 5 minutes to 1 hour after purchase or worse case scenario 24 hours, subject to payment clearance. They can be emailed to you, or collected from the website.If you wish to collect the codes of a physical card or have them emailed to you, you can do this by selecting this option when purchasing the card. After collecting the codes from our website, or getting them emailed, you can still ask they are posted to you; you do this from the buy order within my accounts. eCodes can only be used online, not in store.Physical cards - please see https://www.cardyard.co.uk/blog/covid-19-update. If physical cards are purchased, they will be dispatched on a Wednesday when we are in the office. Cards bought after Wednesday, will be dispatched the following week. If you wish the purchase to be sent “to sign for” or “special delivery” you have to pay a surcharge for this.     Sometimes transactions may fail to pass our security checks so in order to follow due diligence, we are required to ask for additional information to ensure the card belongs to the named card holder.

  • I want to know when you have a card in stock?

    You can turn on notifications (https://www.cardyard.co.uk/users/edit#!/notifications) for cards by going to ‘buy gift cards’, type in the retailer you are after and then turn on ‘notify me when in stock’. These notifications are sent out at 12pm every day.

  • I am due a refund for an order but haven’t received it yet?

    If you experienced an issue with a refund, contact us on support@cardyard.co.uk. In most cases it is the card issuer who hasn’t processed this yet which can take between 5 days till a month pending on your card issuer.

  • Gifting cards

    Cardyard gift cards are not suitable for gifting. They are for self-use only.Cardyard sells gift cards that come from members of the public. We guarantee the balance on a gift card for 42 days from purchase, and somebody receiving such a card as a gift may not appreciate this. If there is an issue with a gift card, we will only accept notification from the purchaser and not the final recipient. eCodes do not have the full retailer branding.   • I've changed my mind. Can I have a refund?

    If you bought gift cards from Cardyard, but then change your mind (buyers remorse) within 2 weeks, and would like a refund, we can do that, but you must agree to these terms:You will receive the refund as credit into your Cardyard account.The refund will be credited 2 weeks after we sell on the gift card to a new buyer.You must accept full responsibility for the balance on the gift card so if the subsequent buyer experiences a balance reduction and we determine it was nothing to do with the buyer, we will claim the balance discrepancy from you.If the value of the gift card is greater than £150 or the aggregate refund is over £1,000 you will have to complete an ID check. If you fail the ID check we will not refund your purchase.By requesting a refund, you are agreeing to these terms.You have no right to a refund; they are given out of goodwill at the discretion of management. We will only offer a refund on one or two purchases and will refuse multiple or repeated refunds.

  • I haven’t received my gift card in the post yet?

    If you haven’t received your gift card in the post just yet, please report this first to support@cardyard.co.uk and include your order number so we can check when it was dispatched and to which address. As we send purchases First Class, there is no guarantee always that Royal Mail delivers it the next day. Items are reported as lost by Royal Mail after 10 working days.

  • My gift card doesn't work or the value is less than promised

    After purchasing a gift card from Cardyard you may find it doesn't work and cannot be redeemed, or the value is less than promised. This is very unusual but it does happen. Contact support through chat or send an email to support@cardyard.co.uk. We will start an investigation which involves finding as much information as possible from the retailer, and reporting the issue to the seller. The following are most helpful. Send photos/screenshots of the error so we know the exact problem. Forward on to us all correspondence with the retailer if you have any. Do not write a review about this issue on any reviews platform during the investigation. We need 3 days to carry out an investigation, but this could extend if the seller disputes the claims; we will let you know. The Ts&Cs say this could extend to 4 weeks. It should be remembered the gift cards sold on Cardyard come from members of the public, and are discounted. One of the reasons for the discount is to cover the very slim possibility there is an inconvenience due to the card not working, and we are here to mitigate that risk. See also... . . . .
